Linux Basics For Beginners

Hey Guys Welcome To Kali Crunch.
In This Post I'll Be Telling Some Basic Linux Command Codes For Begginers.

I'll Start By Saying That Nearly Every Pro System Engineer Uses Linux And Most Of The Penetration Testing Tools Are Developed In Linux.
Let's Start With The Topic.
If You Already Have Installed Linux On Your PC Then Move To Step 1 Or If You Haven't ,Then Download And Install Linux From Official Website.
Most Of The Commands That Are Listed Are Used In Backtrack Linux.

Step 1.
Boot Up Linux
Once You Have Booted Up Login As 'root' And Then Type:
bt>startx

Step 2.
Open The Terminal.
The Linux Terminal Is Similar To That Of  Command Prompt In Windows. So, If You Have Ever Used Command Prompt It Will Be Easier For You To Understand Terminal.
It Is Important To Keep In Mind That Linux Is Case Sensitive So, You Have To Make Difference In Capital And Small Letters.

Step 3.
Before Starting You Have To Examine The Directory Structure.
The Forward Slash (/) Represent The Root Of The File System.
Some Points That Should Be Remembered And Noted.
The /bin Directory Is Where Binaries Are Stored . These Are The Codes That Make The Linux Operate.
The /dev Directory Holds The Device Files.
The /var Directory Is Where The Log Files Are Stored.

Step 4.
Using pwd Function.
When We Open The Terminal We Are In The Home Directory. We Can Confirm In Which Directory We Are In By Simply Typing In Terminal:
bt>pwd
'pwd' Stands For Present Working Directory.

Step 5.
Using cd Command.
We Can Change The Directory We Are Working In By Simply Typing In The Command.
bt>cd (directory name)
